BUCK ,BUCK,BUCK . All the dreams I use to have when I was a small girl . Of what it would be like to live in the past. And what kind of man I wanted. And Ms. Raddon , she found just the man I have always wanted; and his name is Buck!
We first start off with Tempest , strong woman who will do anything to keep her and her children afloat and pay back all her dead husband has done. When she is cornered and given then awful choices of marry or leave she doesn't know what to do. And just when you think it is all over her come her dusty, dirty, brown horses LONG dead husband?
Buck, promises Tempest husband ,Skeet to make sure is and the family is ok , as he lied dying. Buck agrees but being throw in jail side tracked this promise. But once her get out he head to make that promise true. Little did he know he will just have to what he got himself into.

Wonderful story, loved the back and forth between Tempest and Buck. She don't take no crap from him or anyone. And that is what Buck needs. A strong woman , to show him it is ok to love again.  Anne’s Review:
Untamed is the third book in the Duty Bound Series and can be read as a stand-alone.  Constable Avery Stone has been demoted and sent to a remote detachment in Newfoundland.  While investigating the death of a disgraced officer he meets the feisty single mother Hannah Parker.  Hannah, who has been deaf since a teenager, has moved back to her Grandfather’s cabin with her son Rory to escape her past.  After an attempt is made on Hannah and her young son’s lives Avery vows to protect them while piecing together the unsolved murder.
For me the love story between Avery and Hannah was very realistic and believable.  I liked that Hannah’s being deaf was not used as a weakness and I fell in love with her little boy Rory and the dog Snowflake. The suspense was good and kept you guessing until the end however, there were times when it became hard to follow the story and it moved slowly in places.
Overall it was a good read with good character development but in my opinion could have been better.

Even the hottest sex might not be enough to ease the pain of the past…

Molly Simpson arrives at a beautiful provincial park, ready to spend the May Two-Four holiday camping with friends. This weekend is the highlight of her year—or it was, until Tanner Daivies showed up. Her high school crush is all grown up, sexy as sin, and he’s demanding answers—answers Molly isn’t sure she can give him. She had her reasons for leaving him all those years ago, but now, sex with Tanner is scorching, and when they’re together, it’s clear they were never meant to be apart. But the past doesn’t want to stay buried, and Molly isn’t sure reliving it is worth the risk…

Krystal's Review...
Anne Lange has crafted a sweet reunion story. I felt more connected to Molly than Tanner, but they had great sexual tension from the very beginning. The time jumping from present to ten years ago was a little jarring at first, I felt like it might have been the author's way of getting to put in a lot of backstory without it sounding like backstory. I really would have rather had more present day before the jump.

The dynamic between the group of friends was great and I could totally see myself hanging out with these people (even though you would NEVER catch me in a tent).

I'm trying not to spoil....but Molly's inner struggle was the main focus of the story and as a woman who has struggled with fertility, I really connected with her inner demons. I'm not sure someone who hasn't gone through something similar would connect the same way though.

Now for the pink parts... The romance in this story was hot and passionate! The scenes between Molly and Tanner were well written and will leave you looking for a fan or a tall glass of ice tea. Great job.

I was very pleased with the ending. Thank you Ms. Lange for the opportunity to read your work. I recommend it to anyone looking for a contemporary heartfelt and tender reunion romance.

Wednesday, June 26, 2013- Satin Sheets Romance Review of Celtic Fury by Ria Cantrell

Title:  Celtic Fury
Author:  Ria Cantrell

https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Ria-Cantrell/314592691973723

Genre:  Historical Romance
Length:  256 pages
Find It On:  Amazon
In 14th Century Scotland amid Highland Feuds and Clan division, rugged men fight for their birthrights and their place in history. The MacCollum and Campbell Clans are bitter enemies, especially for the son of the Laird MacCollum, Rory, the fabled and lethal Wolf of the Highlands. When his betrothed is killed at the hands of his enemies, Rory has sworn vengeance on all named Campbell. Darkness pervades this warrior to the point of poisonous destruction. Each day the darkness creeps forth, changing him and embattling his psyche. Each day, the blackness is becoming harder and harder to quell. Only Love can save him from the impending darkness, but his heart is walled.
After years of self-enforced exile in England, Rory returns to Scotland to seek his own destiny. On his journey, Rory aids and rescues a young woman who is broken and battered from a terrible accident. Rory knows he has to save her. In saving her, is it possible to save himself? His heart gradually opens, only to find this woman is his most sworn and hated enemy. Amid lies and betrayal, can Brielle’s love save Rory from the Darkness that seeps through his veins? Can her love prevent him from the self- destructive course he has been destined to run?
Angela’s Review:
I am a huge fan of all things Scottish, and I adore my Scottish romance books!  Ms. Cantrell did a wonderful job creating and describing the characters, in this sensual story of healing and love.
There are times where the political intrigue throughout Scotland’s history makes for intense storylines.  However, I find that the conflict between feuding clans even more interesting, as it draws out the alpha in the highland hero, and the strong-headed heroine. Honor and propriety is what I love best about a good Scottish romance. The author captured that in Rory and Brielle’s story.
Though the hero was haunted by vengeance, he never lost his honorable, protective nature to the opposite sex.   I found his concern for Brielle to be endearing, as well as sexy.  The only issue I had with the character was the author’s use of both the Gael and English version of the name.  At times she would refer to him as Ruari, and other times he was referred to as, Rory.  Though it did not deter from the story, I didn’t think it was necessary. It was clear to me as a reader, that this was indeed a Scottish romance.
Brielle was an amazing heroine, and I loved that the author—in some sense—let her be the one to save Rory from the darkness.  She was strong, as well as beautiful just as a heroine should be.
One of my favorite aspects of the story was the ghost of Rory’s deceased betrothed, Caitlyn. I could feel Rory’s closure and healing, as the ghost encouraged him to move forward.
Overall, I found it to be a romantic, sensual read, and I enjoyed it very much. If you’re a lover of Scottish romance then you will want to give Celtic Fury by Ria Cantrell a read.

Kande's Satin Sheets Romance Review for Pine Needles

Title:  Pine Needles – Book one in the Veil Realms series

Author: Karli Rush

Summary: Sindale, a city devastated by a ravaging earthquake, pulverizing the lives of many. Separating, and dividing families, changing the reality as they once knew it. Thousands of men, women, and children will forever be affected, but none as gravely as Rayden and Selene.

Splitting the serene city in two by a mysterious confining veil, the boundaries are set and their mortal lives are at stake. What will it take to keep one’s own sanity, humanity, and one’s only love? Or will it be too late?

Kande's Review:
Action-packed and very well written! Do yourself a favor and read this book!

When I opened this book, I hadn't known what to expect...but, near the end, I found myself at a complete one-eighty from what I had first expected. That in and of itself is a good thing!

What makes this novel so unforgettable? If I had to pick one thing it would be Karli's writing. Her depiction of Selene's voice is utterly captivating.

This novel has a bit of everything. I wouldn't necessarily describe it solely as a dystopian novel. There is a strong love story as well as a supernatural twist. All of my favorites wrapped up into one breathtaking debut.

Pine Needles has all the elements that make a novel, a great novel. Superb writing, realistic and dimensional characters, an intense story and a gorgeous cover. The cover doesn't really make the novel a great one, but I had to throw that one in there.

In short: This was Awesome. You need to read it... like now!

I give this story:

Anna Well's Satin Sheet Review of the Unraveling of Lady Fury

Title: The Unraveling of Lady Fury
Author: Shehanne Moore
Author's Website:
Publisher:  Etopia Press
Genre: Historical Romance
Length: 262 pages

Rule One: There will be no kissing. Rule two: There will be no touching…

Widowed Lady Fury Shelton hasn’t lost everything—yet. As long as she produces the heir to the Beaumont dukedom, she just might be able to keep her position, and her secrets. When the callously irresistible Captain James “Flint” Blackmoore sails back into her life, Lady Fury panics. She must find a way to protect herself—and her future—from the man she’d rather see rotting in hell than sleeping in her bed. If she must bed him to keep her secrets, so be it. But she doesn't have to like it. A set of firm rules for the bedroom will ensure that nothing goes awry. Because above all else, she must stop herself from wanting the one thing that Flint can never give her. His heart.

Ex-privateer Flint Blackmoore has never been good at following the rules. Now, once again embroiled in a situation with the aptly named Lady Fury, he has no idea why he doesn't simply do the wise thing and walk away. He knows he’s playing with fire, and that getting involved with her again is more dangerous than anything on the high seas. But he can’t understand why she’s so determined to hate him. He isn't sure if the secret she keeps will make things harder—or easier—for him, but as the battle in the bedroom heats up, he knows at least one thing. Those silly rules of hers will have to go…

Anna’s Review

Lady Fury has a dilemma; her husband has died before he produced an heir.  She has to get pregnant immediately so she can convince everyone she is carrying her dead husband’s child.  If she doesn't she’ll be penniless, but Fury takes this in stride quickly and finds a number of suitable if not likable candidates to father her child.

However her plans are disrupted when her former lover, Flint Blackmoore, walks back into her life and quickly signs up for the position of stud.  Fury understandably can’t forgive him for previously abandoning her so she is determined to remain aloof, and really who can blame her?

Historical romances are my first love and Lady Fury is a delightful heroine.   She’s not easily seduced the second time around really makes Flint work hard to win her back.  Fury and Flint are great characters who will make you laugh as they attempt to keep their distance while they are trying to conceive a child.  As the story unfolds you’ll learn why Fury is so determined to secure her future, but shhh….no spoilers.

Nanee's Review:

This book mesmerized  me, made me cringe and made me smile. The author writes a amazing story of dark erotica that makes your heart beat fast and your head spin. He wants her body but not her.I loved this story because the writing is amazing. This author captures your attention and doesn't let go, I want to read more by Skye Warren.

Nadene's Satin Sheets Review of Paranormal Sightings (Cruising The South China Seas) by Judy Marriott

TITLE: PARANORMAL SIGHTINGS: CRUISING THE SOUTH CHINA SEAS.
AUTHOR: JUDY MARRIOTT
PUBLISHER:WHISPERS PUBLISHING
GENRE: PARANORMAL ROMANTIC SUSPENSE
LENGTH: 84 pages
BUY LINK: AMAZON

BLURB

Beth, a curvaceous red head from London, England, thinks her love life is over when she is attacked by a rogue werewolf. Full of self-disgust over her new form and not really understanding what has happened, she withdraws into herself, until through her work as an artist, she wins a two week luxury cruise in the South China Sea. Despite huge reservations over managing ‘shape shifting’ at sea, she accepts.

As soon as she boards in Hong Kong, she meets Gerry Slavinsky; an CPSW investigator from Boston USA, appointed to discover how a passenger died in his cabin under peculiar circumstances. The attraction for both of them is explosive; but both know that any sexual union is out of the question. Sensing her arousal, Bjorg Adamsen, both the cruise hotel director, and the powerful, ship pack leader, pursues her. Despite his obvious good looks, intuitively she perceives evil. When the murders continue, Beth knows that, to survive, she must ally herself to one or the other.

NADENE'S REVIEW

Being an avid fan of paranormal romance as well as romantic suspense I was quite intrigued by the  blurb and was grateful for the opportunity to read and review this title. As this was my first time reading this author's work I was not sure what to expect.
The story started out great but then it lost it's momentum in the middle but then it picked up in the end.  Paranormal sightings is what one would classify as a romantic suspense with the focus being on werewolves.

Beth is a recently turned werewolf who had won a two week luxury cruise in the South China Sea.  She too this cruise as a means of getting away and to try and deal with the issue of her being an werewolf.  Gerry is purebred werewolf, who is an investigator for the Centre for Paranormal Sightings Worldwide.  His purpose for being on the cruise was to investigate the mysterious death of one of the passengers.  The attraction between these two was evident from the outset, however as they both had their own demons from the past to deal with they were bent on fighting their feelings for each other.
Although this is a part of a series it can be read as a stand alone.

For me the mystery element was somewhat predictable. It was quite easy for me to figure out whom the murderer was.  It did not give me that edge of your seat feeling that I have come to expect from romantic suspense stories.   There were no twists and turns. The ending was good as it does not leave the reader hanging.

Overall this was an ok read.  Although I was not completely impressed by this particular story I would still recommend it to readers who may find this type of story appealing.

Krystal's Satin Sheets Romance Review of Lingerie Wars by Janet Elizabeth Henderson

Length: 312 pages
Buy at Amazon

Englishman Lake Benson loaned his life savings to his dippy sister so that she could buy a shop. It was a big mistake. His sister has been steadily flushing his money down the drain – and now he wants it back. Years in the special forces taught Lake that if you want a job done, do it yourself. So he steps in to make the shop profitable, sell it and get his money back. The only problem is, the business is an underwear shop. And all Lake knows about underwear can be summed up in how fast he can unsnap a bra. To make matters worse, the tiny highland town already has a lingerie shop. A successful one, run by an ex-lingerie model. A very gorgeous ex-lingerie model, who’s distracting him from his mission more than he’d like to admit. If Lake wants to get his savings back, and get out of Scotland, he only has one option – wipe out the competition.

Kirsty Campbell has spent years rebuilding her life after she woke up in hospital in Spain to find her body scarred, and her ex-fiance had run off with all her money. The last thing she needs is a cocky, English soldier-boy trying to ruin all she has left. Her home town is only too happy to help her fight the latest English invasion, although Lake is beginning to sway them with his sex appeal and cut price knickers. With the help of her mother, and the retired ladies of Knit or Die, Kirsty sets about making sure that her shop is the last one standing in Invertary.

It’s Scotland versus England as you’ve never seen it before. It’s a lingerie war!

Krystal's Review...
This was a fun read right off the bat. The characters were entertaining, witty, and just enough sass to really make them jump off the page for me. The idea of this big macho, ex-military guy running a lingerie shop is 'laugh out loud funny', but Janet pulls it off and weaves a romantic tale with a twist I didn't see coming.

I adored the secondary character, Betty. The story wouldn't have been the same without her. The only thing about this book that threw me off was the secondary romance going on between Raine(Lake's sister) and Alistair. I found it mildly distracting and tended to skim over their parts. I think their story might have been told better in a separate book altogether. This book was about Lake and Kirsty and needed to stay on Lake and Kirsty.

Altogether, it was a really enjoyable read and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun, adventurous, contemporary love story, set in present day Scotland. Lake was a drool-worthy sexy hunk of a hero and Kirsty was working through self image issues that most women, even if they don't have scars, can connect with.

Janet has graciously offered a free digital copy of Lingerie Wars to one lucky commenter. So please leave your and email address to enter to win!

  • The Night Touched haven't been around in centuries. Created from the First Born (the original vampire), the Night Touched were made to create the bloodlines from which all modern day vampires come from. Their unique powers and colorful marks set them apart from other vampires.

Harper Kemp had long believed that she was the last Night Touched in existence. With her friends Lily and Jason, she had learned to accept it and move on. Until one night, when everything changed.

A plea from her dreams and a forbidden romance, Harper sets out on a path of discovery; not only is she not alone, she's about to face her worst night- a devastatingly handsome slayer named Silas with a finger on her non existent pulse.
  • Review
  • The romance between Harper and Silas takes shape slowly after the reader is introduced to "The Night Touched" and their significance - first generation vampires who glow when they feed.
  • Harper and her friends move among the vapidly rich, killing and leaving bodies along the way, yet they live in fear of "hunters." I'll avoid spoilers, but let's just say the plot thickens a bit when Harper becomes interested in the human, Silas.   She eventually has to make a decision between her lifestyle and her growing affection for him.
  • Despite being told in first person, I found it difficult to identify with the main character, Harper. That could have been the kiss of death. On the other hand, Silas was intriguing, Provan managed to come up with a new take on vampires, and that those qualities kept me reading. 2.5 satin pillows.
  •
