Satin Sheets Guest Post - Tawny Weber #newrelease #Fearless

A Sexy Getaway
If you were going to plan the perfect romantic getaway weekend, what would you choose?
Maybe a beach setting.  The hot sun, the warm sand, the yummy margaritas.  Can’t you just imagine the sunset walks along the shore, bare feet and a soft, cotton flowing dress over a very sexy bikini?  Maybe a romantic sail along the coast?
Or a big city romance.  You know, edgy clubs, fancy shoes, decadent dinners at the hottest restaurant.  Dressing up and playing jet setter, complete with mimosas for brunch (because who’s up for breakfast after a night of clubbing?) and champagne for dinner.
A snowy mountain getaway for that secluded romance.  Snowball fights and skiing, winding up in front of a roaring fire with a hot toddy and an even hotter hero?
A serene bed and breakfast in Napa, a biking tour of the wineries ending in a delicious dinner with locally grown wine?
All of these are wonderfully romantic.  But for FEARLESS, the weekend getaway was all about the sexual fantasy... which meant only one place would do.  Las Vegas, of course.

Here’s a peek at FEARLESS:
“So what brings you here?” Luke asked, needing a distraction from the demands his body was trying to make.  Demands that’d have them both naked and putting on a floor show pretty damned soon.
“Here, where?  To Vegas? To the Bellagio?  Or to the club?” she clarified.
 “All of the above.”
“Actually, I’m here to live out a little fantasy,” she said her words so quiet they were almost lost in the music.
                   “Yeah?  What kind of fantasy?”
Her eyes were endless, lush lashes so thick they were like fringe and so much emotion in them that Luke felt like he was drowning.  Emotion usually made him run.
But whatever was going on with Vanna had him hooked.
Intrigued.
She wet her lips, a quick swipe of her pink tongue over that glossy red.
Luke’s temperature spiked.
Horny as hell.
“Actually, my fantasy is of the sexual nature,” she told him, a flash of nerves in her big brown eyes before her gaze locked on his mouth.
The nerves, as much as the fact that her stare was like a physical caress over his lips, was a major turn-on.
“You don’t say.  Is this a fantasy you’d care to share?”
 “Maybe.  With the right guy.”
“What’s it take to qualify?”  Whatever it was, he’d do it.
“Imagination, boldness and the ability to follow directions top the list,” she said.  Then, as if testing the strength of the passion between them, she shifted closer so her full breasts brushed his chest.  “What do you think?  Are you up for the job?”
His body hitting a flame hotter than he’d ever felt with clothes on, Luke grinned at the woman in his arms.
“Babe, I’m all yours,” he promised.

FEARLESS backcover blurb:
Promising career: check
Amazing apartment: check
The best of friends: check
Sex life: MIA
There’s just one thing missing from Gia Renyard’s life: sexual adventure. And the one man she’d like to have it with is her hot co-worker, Luke Monroe. If only company rules didn’t prohibit her from asking him out. So Gia comes up with a plan: make herself over into a fantasy seductress, follow Luke to a convention in Sin City, and have her way with him for one erotic weekend. The man will never even know who did him.
Everything is going according to plan—until Gia discovers that Luke is perfect for her outside the bedroom too. And suddenly she’s no longer content to let what happens in Vegas stay in Vegas…

LACE's REVIEW....

The author takes you on an amazing Fantasy that you will not want to end. All of the characters in this book play an important part which makes this a very enjoyable and believable story.
I so enjoyed the girl friends relationships to one another it really made the story interesting. The little gatherings and the tell all girls nights were a nice touch. U was happy that both Gia and Luke both had someone they could confide in for a change. Yes this is a must read for all romance readers and erotic readers as well. I definitely will read this book again.

Nanee's Review of The Counterfeit Cowgirl by Kathryn Brocato

18221277

Book Description:

Felicity Clayton, tired of life on the road as a top saleswoman, trades in her career to become the owner of The Cosmic Cowgirl boutique in Nashville. Thus she works hard to carefully cultivate her fashion-house cowgirl image. So when she takes a two-week vacation to Foxe, Texas, to prepare her recently deceased grandmother’s house for sale, she’s astonished to find herself disliked almost before she steps out of her truck.

Aaron Whitaker runs the local Chevrolet dealership and raises cows and horses. He has no use for a flashy, brown-eyed fake cowgirl who has ignored her grandmother for years, especially one driving a Dodge pickup truck. And with his sister and her two young sons staying with him, he doesn’t have time to get involved with the menace next door—so why is he beginning to feel an unwanted attraction to her?

Can these opposites overcome their differences enough to experience the love of a lifetime?

Nanee's Review:

Love Felicity she's sweet, strong willed, chic (in her cowgirl clothes) and sassy and that's just what Allen found intriguing. Of course that was after their first run in. Allen cannot believe his eyes when this flashy cowgirl comes into town to clean out her deceased grandmothers home, he can't believe her audacity to be there grabbing everything dear to her grandmother but never visited  when she was alive. Allen is a Cardinal, he loves taking care of his family, he's like a mother hen with his sister and her kids, he's sexy as hell too a real man's man that's  what caught Felicity's eye,  of course that was after their first meeting (lol). Love their first interaction with each other...too funny. I absolutely think Pete and Joey stole the show with their cuteness and fear of ghosts (love them). This story was very sweet with a little touch of flirty, I thought the author wrote terrific characters, loved them all. It's a real page turner, I couldn't wait to see what happens.

Meet Hailey - possessed by an otherworldly being who was trapped in her Kindle.

Hailey Parrish is quick-witted, irreverent, and hasn’t had a date in three years. She only wanted an eBook reader because her collection of paperbacks threatened to take over her small living space. Little did she know that the "special offers" that prompted the purchase included much more than a reduced price in exchange for a few ads. The device came pre-loaded with the essence of Sebastian Kess, an erudite womanizer with magical abilities from a parallel dimension. When she inadvertently releases him and he inhabits her body, she finally has a man inside her, just not in the way she imagined. And soon her predicament introduces her to yet another supernatural, the handsome could-be-the-man-of-her-dreams Alex Sunderland. Can Alex and Hailey find a way to return Sebastian to his own body, stay one step ahead of the criminals who want to keep him where he is, and not lose their sense of humor?

Special Offers, the first book of the Coursodon Dimension Series, combines paranormal romance, urban fantasy, a bit of science fiction and a healthy dose of quirky humor.

Contains content exclusive for Amazon.

Natalie Gibson's review:

I was pleasantly surprised by Special Offers.  At first I was rolling my eyes (after all it was a story about a man's personality/ memories/ attitude getting caught in a kindle and transferred into the first human who used it), but I enjoyed it.  Special Offers is a science fiction romance and they are quite rare.  The hero is magically adept which could put this as a paranormal romance, but the reason he's magical is because he's from another dimension.  That puts it squarely in sci-fi.

Hailey is a divorcee who milks chinchilla's for a living.  Her life is odd but boring at the same time.  Then she meets Alex.  He's not the kind of man who normally hits on her, in fact he isn't a man at all, at least not human.  They embark on a grand adventure to ensure Hailey's safety and privacy by getting Sebastian out of her head and back into his OWN body.

The concept was unique and a lot more compelling than the set up promised.  The author gets bonus points for originality.  The characters were fun and the dialogue realistic.  Never once did I think, 'no one would say that'.  There was no sex until the very end but that means I had time to fall for Alex, just as Hailey did.

Doug's Review of The Scribe by Elizabeth Hunter

Title: The Scribe: Irin Chronicles Book One
Author: Elizabeth Hunter
Author's Website: Elizabeth Hunter Website
Publisher: E. Hunter/Amazon Digital Services
Genre: Epic Paranormal Romance with Thriller/Suspense
Length: approx 256 pgs
Buy Link: The Scribe: Irin Chronicles Book One

Summary:

Hidden at the crossroads of the world, an ancient race battles to protect humanity, even as it dies from within.

Ava Matheson came to Istanbul looking for answers, but others came looking for her. A reckless warrior guards her steps, but will Malachi’s own past blind him to the truth of who Ava might be? While ancient forces gather around them, both Ava and Malachi search for answers.

Whispering voices. Deadly touch. Their passion should be impossible… or it could be the only thing that will keep them alive.

THE SCRIBE is the first book in the Irin Chronicles, the new paranormal romance series from Elizabeth Hunter, author of the Elemental Mysteries.

Doug's Review:

I am thinking that authors wait to release some of their best books until later in the year just to have reviewers like me sound like idiots repeating ourselves about “this is the best thing this year’ and similar accolades. I think I have said that about 3-4 times this year already. All that is to prepare you for me to say it again, this may actually be THE best thing I have read this year even though since it is book 1 of a trilogy the story is not complete yet.

Malachi is one of the Irin, a race of mostly males that have inscribed magical symbols/spells into their skin to allow them to fight off attacks to humanity by the Grigori a race of mixed blood of The Fallen.

Ava is a young woman, professional photographer that has been hearing “voices” all her life and has managed through mainly strength of will to remain sane.

Through her meeting and developing relationship with Malachi she has found out some of the answers but not all and this journey and a romance that crosses all barriers will be the crux of this series.

This seems to be a romance at the heart of the story since that is what drives much of the action and to paraphrase another reviewer, this is indeed the best mix of romance and action I have read in years, the mix of good, evil, and powerful beings with motives that are completely unknown are all thrown together in a mix of fantasy, romance and action that is addicting to the reader and by the end of the book you will be desperate for the next release.

The ending while stirring elements of tragedy, hope and frustration is not a cliffhanger but does indeed hook you into the next book shamelessly which is what a good author is supposed to do but it does make us mere mortals wish for time to pass quickly so we can see what happens next.

This has all the feel of an epic story as was her earlier Elemental Mysteries series of 4 books but this story seems to be taking it to a much higher level and now I anxiously await the next installment. The romance in this novel is all consuming and sacrificial but Ms Hunter leaves us with hope for the future when things look bleak.

5 Stars and I can only hope the other books in this series will be as exceptional.

Bottom Line: This is what 5 Star reading should be, having you glued to the pages and leaving you with a thirst for more without making you mad that the book ended. A romance for the ages and a overarching story that you can't stop thinking about until the next book. Make no mistake, on the 15th of October when this is released, THIS is what you need to be reading.

Blurb:

To her millions of fans, ballroom champion Selena Marcil seems to have the perfect life: a great dance partner, a hit reality show, and celebrity perks. But underneath the glamorous ball gowns, Selena longs to find someone to share her life with when the stage lights dim.

Selena’s childhood sweetheart, Bret Lord, hung up his dance shoes after winning two national titles with her as a teenager, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He never saw his former fiancée again, except on television and on the cover of men’s magazines. Ten years and three deployments later, Bret gets an offer to audition for Selena’s dance show. When the Marine Corps gives him temporary leave to appear on the series, Bret can’t refuse the quick cash that will enable him to provide financially for the widow of his buddy, even if it does mean coming face to face with his past.

When Bret shows up at her national championship, Selena is shocked. For years she searched for him to no avail. After spending time with Bret, Selena realizes despite their past romance, they have no future. He has no desire to live under a spotlight and she has no desire to leave it. Can Selena and Bret recognize when Love Waltzes In?

Catrina's Review:

In the spirit of full disclosure, I received and ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the entire concept. A hard-assed Marine on a dancing show promises a lot of entertainment.

Bret won my over from the first introduction to him while deployed. He's everything every Marine I've met has been. Serious and focused in the field and a real charmer off the field.

Selena is an intriguing character as well. Her story is one of heartache and determination. I'm glad these two star crossed lovers found their way back to each other.

I've always wanted to learn ballroom dancing, especially the Latin dances, so this story grabbed my interest immediately.

The plot has many unexpected twists, which is always a plus in my book. The characters jump to life from the first page. Tension stays tight.

Over all a well written story with heart warming characters and an interesting plot. There was never a dull moment.

Angela Rose's Satin Sheets Review of Lady Broke by Rachel Donnelly

Wed., September 25, 2013-Satin Sheets Review of Lady Broke by Rachel Donnelly
Title:  Lady Broke
Author:  Rachel Donnelly
Author’s Website:   author-racheldonnelly.blogspot.com
Genre: Historical Romance
Length: 318 pages
Find it On:  Amazon, B&N, and Sony ebookstore
East meets west when a high-principled Boston socialite teams up with a revenge driven bounty hunter to catch a gang of outlaws in the wilds of Nevada. It's tough being a witness when the last one turned up dead. But Christie Wallace is determined to bring the Everett gang to justice. Unfortunately, the law can't protect her from pistol-toting outlaws or the intoxicating lure of a dangerous man. But, after escaping the suffocating prospects of an arranged marriage, she has no intention of allowing her heart to rule her head, even when temptation comes in the form of an incorrigible lawman named Nat Randall. Dead or alive - it made no difference to Nat Randall. He's tried to bring the Everett gang to trial once before, but the law let him down. It seems frontier justice is all he has left. But he didn't count on protecting a bewitching Easterner whose courageous spirit challenges him as much as her beauty distracts. It's not long before he's torn between pursuing her or the outlaws. A timeless, rollicking adventure of unlikely lovers, set in the Wild West.
Angela’s Review:
I was captivated by Ms. Donnelly’s tale set in the Wild West. It was an exciting storyline, as well as action-filled!

Even though it more than obvious at the beginning, that Nat Randall and Nathan Cavanaugh were one in the same, it did not deter from making this story a page-turner. If anything, it only piqued my interest.
I absolutely loved the fun and unique phrases used by the antagonist. It had me laughing aloud several times. Two of my favorites: He’s hornier than a three-pecked Billy goat and I’m drier than a fart in a windstorm!
The hero was everything I love in a cowboy. He was rough, rugged and rogue! Christie was the typical heroine. She had a stubborn streak a mile long, was outspoken, but she had a heart. Watching this pair evolve throughout the story was enjoyable and I look forward to reading more from this author.

It’s hard to know who to trust as secrets and life-threatening danger stalk Max and Audrey through the pages of Wolfborn, Book 2 of Underground Heat. In a world where shifters keep their friends close and their enemies closer, passion flares hot and sweet. You won’t be able to turn the pages fast enough in this sizzling, suspenseful romance from author Ann Gimpel. In a futuristic California that’s almost out of resources, Max leads a double life. A Russian wolf-shifter, he heads up the State of California as its governor—and the shifter underground. He took on the governorship to help his people. Threatened with genocide, many shifters have gone into hiding. Some blame Max and the underground for their plight, rather than the governmental edict that’s meant death for so many.
Audrey works for Max. Unlike most humans with low levels of shifter blood who bless their lucky stars they avoided the purge, she wants to be a shifter. If she could find a way to finesse it, she’d quit her job in a heartbeat and go to work helping the shifter underground. The only sticking point is Max. She’s been half in love with him forever.
Against a dog-eat-dog political backdrop where no one knows who their allies are, Max and Audrey spar with one another. Max fears she’s part of the group trying to kill him. Audrey has no idea about Max’s double identity and worries she won’t be able to walk away from their fiery attraction to help the underground.
After a second attempt on his life, Max faces critical choices. Should he follow his head or his heart?
Content Notes: Spicy

Review
Max is a shifter living a double life as a politician in an effort to save his people from the government's edict to eradicate them. Audrey, his office assistant, has shifter blood, but not enough to shift. She's loved him for a very long time, but has no idea he's a shifter. After several threats on Max's life, his relationship with Audrey changes, and he learns more about her than he ever expected to.

What I enjoyed most about "Wolf Born" was Gimpel's ability to show the feelings of her characters through perfectly chosen body language. The hero and heroine were both likable and believable, and the supporting characters, particularly Johannes, a "metro" male, was memorable. I can't wait to read his story.

While the juxtaposition of shifters and politics still rings a little odd to me, but Gimpel's ability to keep me interested despite our different philosophies is commendable. Four and a half stars.

How will she cope with knowing the danger is much closer to home than she thought? When everyone seems to be gunning for them, can she find love and salvation with Rory before it’s too late?

NADENE'S REVIEW
Finding Judgement is the second book in the Centre Games Series, however it can be read as a stand- alone.  I have not had the opportunity to read the first book in the series but based on my experience with Finding Judgement I can see that this is going to be a great series.

The story line was quite unique for me as this is the first time I am reading about agents whose DNA had been spliced with that of the twelve animal signs of the Chinese zodiac.  This led their five senses being heightened to match the animal DNA that their human cells  had been spliced with.

It's  been awhile since I have read a book where I absolutely loved all the characters. I especially loved the  interaction between Quade and Dr. Jazz Carter. It was fun to see these two always quibbling about something and refusing to acknowledge how they actually felt about each other. I hope Ms. Gayle will write their story soon.

I thought the chemistry between the male and female protagonist was quite realistic.  T.J and Rory were quite good together.  I absolutely enjoyed their interaction.  I found Rory to be quite the gentleman.  T.J. is a very self reliant female who found it very hard to accept help when it was being offered.

The mystery element was quite riveting. It had me turning the pages as I so badly wanted to know what was going to happen next.  This was quite an enjoyable read. It pulled me in from the very first page and I just could not put it down.

This is my first time reading this author's work and I am definitely looking forward to more of her work.

Just when Colt starts to believe he can leave the gunfighter life behind, his past returns, bringing danger to them all. Can a shootist ever hang up his hardware? Or will their dreams disappear in the smoke of a desperado's gun?

Nanee's Review:

Very sweet story. I love the old west type romance stories. Amelia a tough as nails but sweet as pie women taking care of her brother and sister finds a gun man bleeding on his horse and takes him in. Colt a quick draw gun man regrets his past but when his enemies family are gunning for after him he doesn't have a choice but protect himself. When he's taken in by Amelia he realizes he wants more than the way he's been living. I thought their flirting and kisses were sweet and promised a future, I felt for Colt I wanted him to be able to stay with Amelia and her family and forget about his past . I also liked Jenny and Saul's characters very sweet kids. Very romantic and sweet story.

His antics on and off stage are the stuff of fantasy and legend. Fiercely independent Maddy Anderson doesn't back down from a challenge, even when it hurts. She's spent ten years dealing with chronic illness and is succeeding on her own terms, just a semester away from finishing her degree and starting her lifelong dream of a career in education. When tragedy strikes, Asher's life is torn apart. He hires Maddy to care for his dead sister's child, and discovers he has a lot to learn about love and commitment. She makes him want to be the kind of man who can care for them both. But can this rock star make the leap from sexy front man to family man or will their bright future be sacrificed to the past?

Asher the rock star met the independent but sick Maddy, on a plane when she comforts his dead sister's daughter. This was a great story , a slow build up of romance, and love and the love of a child that soon brings everyone together. I really enjoyed that Rachel Cross didn't make Maddy out to be perfect. She was flawed, sick , not 100% and that is what made the story more real and made me love it even more.  It has lots of twist and turns , and a few crazy relatives in the mix also. And just when you thought OK , happy ever after it all comes down. And they once again must pick up the pieces and start rebuilding. This was a real romance for the times. You wanted to cry , laugh , smack some of the characters and yell at the others. It had a great love to it and not all sex. Don't get me wrong there was some hot sexy , but it wasn't ALL about it. And I personally miss that in some of the books now. But my faith has been restored thanks to Rachel Cross . Great book , great characters, and wonderful plots and twist and turns.

Anne's Review of Dreams of Ivory by Carrie Ann Ryan

Title: Dreams of Ivory

Author:  Carrie Ann Ryan

Author Website: www.carrieannryan.com

Genre:  Paranormal Romance

Length:  238 pages

Synopsis:

Jackson Cooper hates magic. Even though his brothers are falling prey to the seductive draw of the paranormal world, Jackson wants nothing to do with it. He also wants nothing to do with marriage, babies, and all that comes with it. He's content with being the stoic, but quiet Uncle Jacks. But when a woman from his past, one he's been dodging for years, comes back to town, Jackson might have to reevaluate his plans.

Honor Bridges is the tooth fairy. Well, not the tooth fairy, but at least one of them. For the past eight years she's been on her own, hiding from what she truly wants. Now she's back in Holiday and ready to take over her duties...as well as deal with Jackson once and for all. But there's another player in town who isn't happy with the decisions she made all those years ago and Jackson might be the one who takes the brunt of that anger.

Warning: Contains a wickedly spicy tooth fairy--complete with sparkly wings, the most tortured of all the Cooper brothers in all his broodiness, and dreams that are sure to make you never want to wake up in this final Cooper Brother's installment of the Holiday, Montana series.

Anne’s Review:

Dreams of Ivory is the 5th book in the Holiday Montana series.  Having not read the other four I was concerned I may not be able to catch up and be lost with some of the characters.  My fears were put to rest.  I was impressed with the way Mrs. Ryan was not only able tell Honor and Jackson’s story but also include the other Cooper brother’s and their spouses.

Jackson is a hot, broody, older brother who hates magic and wants no part of it.  Enter Honor, a sweet, loving tooth fairy who has put off her duties for way to long.  Years before they let each other go thinking they were each doing what was best for the other. However, fate has a way of kicking you in the pants and making wrongs right.  With someone out to settle a score with Honor will she and Jackson be able to find their way back to each other before it’s too late?

I really enjoyed this story and I look forward to reading the four other books in the series.  The characters were well developed and very enjoyable.  If you are looking for a great, hot, paranormal read to escape for a while I recommend this series.
