To solve the crime, he must put his trust in a beautiful detective. But is former soldier and MP turned detective, Amber Buckley, a threat to his existence? Or the answer to his prayers?

Amber Buckley and her partner are assigned to do follow up interviews in the Lifeblood of America slayings. Amber believes she and Reid are just new eyes on a cold case. That is, until she meets Gerard Delaroche. Something about him teases long-buried memories Amber would rather not chase. However, the two join together, falling into more than resolution of a murder case. It seems Amber has some dark secrets of her own.

To find their way into the light, Amber and Gerard must first EMBRACE THE DARKNESS.

NOTE: There is a previous book called Out Of The Darkness that is NOT required to enjoy this book but thought I should mention it in case any wanted to read it.

Doug's Review:

This starts as a typical vampire romance and if you think that is a bad thing you are reading the wrong genre. Vampire Gerard Delaroche is wanting to find a cure for his condition and that quest is at the heart of the story and the resulting actions.

Amber Buckley is an ex-MP and home from the military she has some very bad nightmares of things she saw that cannot be real and so she is thought to have a bit of PTSD to account for these "delusions". She never completely believes she did not see exactly what she thought she did years ago and our story develops a bit more depth (and becomes a bit more addicting)

This possible romance is going to take more than the typical MINE meeting that the genre is so familiar. If this romance is going to happen it will require a bit more work and you will enjoy it along the way as the past of both of our main characters are brought out.

There is a story within a story, there is romance and some plain old "buddy" type action. Something for everyone so enjoy the story.

Bottom Line: The book gets 4.5 Stars but I regret I cannot give it 5 Stars because really needed a better editor. As books in recent years go this is far above the norm for editing but still bad grammar/misspelled word/missing/wrong words are there and depending on your level of OCD about such things it will affect your enjoyment. The story was so good I hardly bothered with it but I could not ignore it and not to mention it would be a failing for me as a reviewer.
