USN Chief Joe Hazard filled all of Ros Prim’s teenaged fantasies, but now she’s an adult with a mission, and no handsome sailor will get in her way. The first in her family to earn a college education, she escaped Birds Gap, the deadly dull, stifling town of her childhood and the scene of her most embarrassing memories. However as principal of BGHS she wants to see every child in town go to college not be forced to chose between working in the mines or risking life and limb in the military.
NADENE'S REVIEW
The characters were quite believable. It was quite easy to relate to Ros whose goal was to set a good example for the students she was in charge of and to ensure that each student had a chance to go to college. This goal was challenged when the object of her teenage fantasies, Joe Hazard returned to the community.
Joe Hazard was once the town's bad boy and the object of every teen-aged girl sexual fantasies. Tired of his reputation as a sexual god he joined the navy. He has now returned to Bird's Gap to make a positive contribution to the community.
The chemistry between Joe and Ros was explosive. The love scenes were really hot. I love the fact that Ros was able overlook Joe's past and let go of her inhibitions. It was quite clear as to how Joe felt about Ros. Ros on other hand was struggling between her love for Joe and what she thought was her duty to the students of Bird's Gap High School.
The character that I disliked most in this story was Odette. She was once one of Joe's sexual conquests in high school. Her intent was to have him for her husband and she was willing to do all the possible underhanded things to achieve this.
The story was easy to read and it moved along quite quickly. It held my attention from the first page to the very end. The first part of the story was a bit puzzling but this was eventually cleared up. My only complaint was that it ended to quickly.
This book is recommended for readers who like really HOT romance stories.
