As the Alpha's only daughter Shayna Andrews has always been treated like a rare gem, protected like royalty, and she's suffocating. Her longing to be independent has driven her to sneak out one evening after dinner. After relishing in being able to run free without an escort, she finds herself face-to-face with the enemy, miles from home, and nearly loses her life until a lone wolf comes to her aid.

Travis Hunter's main objective is to destroy the Onyx Pack--a group of drug using, murdering rogue shifters. His seek-and-destroy plans are put on hold when he rescues a female from a brutal attack. The beautifully exotic tiger shifter, Shayna, stirs a passion he thought died with his long-lost mate.
When Shay's first heat cycle slams into her, Travis has no choice but to submit to her needs--and his own. But there is always a price to sleeping with the Pack princess. Not only will they have to face her Pack, Shay and Travis will have to deal with a mating that is beyond a single night and could have consequences more than either of them had thought. And when Travis finds out Shay wears the enemy's brand, things will go from bad to worse.

Warning: One alpha female who doesn't take no for an answer, a wolf with more on the line than just his heart, and a combustible attraction that's sure to cause more than one sweaty night.

Krystal's Review...
I'm enjoying this series and Ms. Davis's world of Ashwood Falls. Technically this is book 1, but there is a prequel to the series called WINTER EVE.

A TIGERS CLAIM is set in pack kingdom called Ashwood Falls and follows the Alpha's adopted daughter, Shayna - A White Tiger. Immediately we feel her restlessness and desire to just get away. Unfortunately for her, getting away has it's costs. But, I will let you read it to find out the price :-)

The war between Ashwood and Onyx is violent and surrounds the characters in this series. The fight scenes are very realistic and I can see them play out easily. Ms. Davis has a fabulous gift with description, harnessing all your senses to bring the setting and scenes to life.

The love story between Travis and Shayna is a little predictable, but I really LOVED Travis as the hero of the story and was very drawn to his Alpha-but-sweet-and-protecting nature. Don't get me wrong, he has a very STRONG alpha side too. The sexual tension and SEX between them is fabulous and I really enjoyed how Ms. Davis built up their connection through the book.

I did feel that since a big deal was made out of it being Shayna's first time, she and Travis's first encounter did not mirror the fuss made about it later in the book. I also found her immediate switch to having a mothering attitude a little out of place. I think there might could have been a little more of a transition to that change. There were a dozen or so misplaced words, so be prepared for that, if it bothers you.

All in all, it was a really good read and I am eagerly looking forward to see what Ashwood Falls future holds. What can I say, I'm a sucker for tortured characters and Ms. Davis can torture with the best.
