Krystal's Satin Sheets Romance Review of Natalie Gibson's Book of Sinnis Series

Ishtar Bound (Book 1 of Sinnis)
by Natalie Gibson
Buy: AMAZON
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Length: 199 pages

Surrounded by magical enemies with an intimate knowledge of her abilities, a matchmaking witch of the highest rank must fulfill both her duty to her coven and her desire for a love of her own, even if the two goals collide.

Maeve Lovejoy has always been good at her job even though her service comes at such a high cost. Though her matchmaking abilities are stronger than ever, the most potent in any coven's recorded history, her introduction to Aaron has confused matters. Believing she's found a partner who can love her and allow her to continue practicing her arts, she shares her secrets with him. Is it a coincidence that soon after, that same information is used to locate and murder Maeve's matches? When Aaron goes missing, is it because he is a member of a rival black magic sect or because he has fallen victim?

For mature readers only.

Krystal's Review....
I actually read this book last, after reading books 2-4. Don't ask me why. Call it a blonde moment. I soooooooo wish I had read this one first. So don't make my mistake.

Ishtar Bound introduces us to Gibson's world of angels, demons, and witches Oh My! The Daughters are a sect of women blessed with certain gifts and magic. They are very organized and each woman has a special purpose within the society of sorts. They also have hierarchal titles that define their rank in the group. It feels like a lot at first, but just keep going. It will all smooth out and make sense very quickly. This book set the stage for the war between the Daughters and the SOFE, witches that are using blood magic to start a magical war. Be prepared for a bit of gore to go along with the villains in this story. They are cruel and evil in the darkest sense of the word.

I loved getting to know Maeve and where her story started. We get to see how happy her position as matchmaker makes her, but also the loneliness she feels because she doesn't think she will ever feel the same love match she helps others find. A lot of things about her friend Nathalia are also explained in this first book. Be sure to pay close attention to her. Another character to remember is Tara Kay *wink*, her book is my favorite of the series.

Natalie Gibson's world is one you will be sucked into completely. Her characters are well developed and unforgettable. The sex is HOT, the suspense is nail-biting, and the stories are original and unique.

Nathalia Lovejoy should be dead, she can remember committing suicide, but she wakes up in a ancient tomb. Her voice destroyed, she must rely on a new source for her magical ability, telepathy, in order to communicate with her savior. Nathalia has a real distaste for men. Lucky for her, Eiran Kafziel is not a man. He is a demigod, a halfbreed, unlike anything she has ever known. He found her in the moment of her death, repaired her body, gave her his holy blood, forever changing her into a Sinnis. She must come to terms with the fact that she is attracted to him, even loves him.

Along the way she discovers a whole world of mythical creatures living among humans. She battles her own hunger for violence and releases a demon from his 500 year prison. Can she become the weapon against that newly freed evil and save the world from his plans, or is she better suited to be his dark queen?

Krystal's Review....
The TRANSIT OF ISHTAR will grab you and not let go. Gibson has created a fantastic world where Nephilim/Angels seek to find their forever mates. We learn more about the supernatural world and the lengths they will go to destroy the world or protect it.

Book 2 focuses on Nathalia, a woman of power, who finds herself alive after committing suicide and playing a huge part in a much larger fight for the world than she could have ever imaged existed. We journey with her through the difficulty of trusting a man, something she never wanted to do again. One of my favorite parts of the book was where Eiran's mark became part of her body.

This book is full of beautiful symbolism and a passionate love story. You won't be able to quit turning the pages.

Ishtar Anomaly (Book 3 of Sinnis)

Genre: Paranormal Romance
Length: 196 pages

Camilla Lovejoy is barren because her natural healing ability cannot differentiate between a desired pregnancy and a unwanted parasite, but wants children desperately. Can Nanae share his Sinnis with another man? Can Camilla handle her lovers loving each other? Will Israel survive the appetites of both? Will the hunger that Nanae battles constantly win and force him to destroy everything that he has come to love and need?

This is an extremely graphic novel with sexual situations for open minded adults, with not only m/f/m scenes but also m/m/f with a sprinkle of BDSM between two superhuman men and a pregnant petite.

Krystal's Review....
Great love story and very hot. The book centers around a Male Guardian (Nephilim), Israel (human to begin with) and the female lead Camilla (a very powerful healer).

Get your fans out because you will need them or a cold shower after reading this story. If you are not up for a hot and heavy m/m/f threesome though, I wouldn't recommend this book. But if you are, you won't be disappointed.

Camilla's powers remove foreign cells from bodies, unfortunately her ability can't tell the difference between a cancer cell and a pregnancy. This means she will never be able to carry her own child and she has caused many miscarriages, before she realized her powers effects.

As a mother who struggled with fertility to have a child I really connected with Camilla and her desire to do whatever is necessary to have a baby. These two men fight for her to have the one thing she desires most in the world, a baby.

I felt like the book really centered around Camilla and her coming to terms with a loss in her past, but it also really showed growth for the two male leads. Both went through a great deal of changes, physically and emotionally before the story was out.

I love seeing characters grow and mature and this was a huge part of the overall theme. The series itself is really building in tension and I can't wait to read the next book!

Krystal's Review...
Another winner from author Gibson! The Sinnis series just keeps building steam and this book is no exception. Ishtar Rising is my absolute favorite of the four books.

Tara Kay is a fun quirky character and I instantly loved her. The green hair just endeared her to me more. She's had a hard life and been betrayed by a lot of people over the years. Even the Daughters don't want to have anything to do with her because they think she uses magic in the style of their enemies. It's caused her numerous problems with them.

Her Guardian was a fabulous surprise (I won't say more to keep from spoiling) but I loved the new angle this book took and the information that came together in this story really made the overall series story arc that much more powerful for me.

The emotional connections and bonds between the characters in this book were fabulous. The book was erotic, fun, sexy, thrilling, suspenseful, and an adventure all wrapped into one. I do have to say that I was nearly brought to tears twice in this book. It was a winner for me through and through.
