Anne’s Review:
I immensely
enjoyed this book and if you love non-stop suspense and heartbreaking romance
this is the book for you.
Melanie is a
sweet, gifted pediatric surgeon with trust issues. Running from her past,
she escapes the states and ends up in war-torn Kazakhstan. There she meets the handsome, rugged ex-Navy
SEAL Jake. When the rebels attack the
hospital they are forced to flee together and Melanie learns to trust Jake as
they fall in love. But what happens when Melanie finds out Jake has been hiding
a big secret from her? Will she ever be able to trust him again? Or will the horrors from her past end them
first?
Ms.
Thereault did a wonderful job with this book. It had just the right amount of everything;
the romance part didn't overtake the action or suspense of the story.
Everything flowed nicely and I found myself falling in love with these
characters. Needing to know if they would all make it out
safe and if Melanie and Jake would find their happiness together after
everything they have been through. The characters were believable and well
written. This is the first book I have
read from Ms. Thereault but I can assure you it will not be the last.
