Jordan Cross has returned to Holiday, Montana after eleven long years to clear out her late aunt’s house, put it on the market, and figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life. Soon, she finds herself facing the town that turned its back on her because she was different. Because being labeled a witch in a small town didn’t earn her many friends...especially when it wasn't a lie.

Matt Cooper has lived in Holiday his whole life. He's perfectly content being a bachelor alongside his four single brothers in a very small town. After all, the only woman he'd ever loved ran out on him without a goodbye. But now Jordan’s back and just as bewitching as ever. Can they rekindle their romance with a town set against them?

Warning: Contains an intelligent, sexy witch with an attitude and drop-dead gorgeous man who likes to work with his hands, holds a secret that might scare someone, and really, really, likes table tops for certain activities. Enough said.

Krystal's Review~

Carrie Ann Ryan’s new release CHARMED SPIRITS, the first in a new series, is set in the small town of Holiday, Montana. It takes place over the Halloween holiday.

The town comes across picturesque and Ryan does a great job of painting the colors of fall into her descriptions. I absolutely loved the reference, “Any second now Bambi would frolic through.” It just made me laugh.

The book introduces a family of grown brothers – the Coopers. All sexy and appealing in their own way. CHARMED SPIRITS centers on Matt Cooper and his newly-returned-to-town old flame, Jordan Cross (The Witch). Jordan tries to keep herself from getting attached to Matt again, but completely and utterly fails! Their romance is fast and very HOT. I was a huge fan of the ‘table’ theme. *smirks*

In the world of Holiday, magic appears to have come out-of-the-closet, so to speak. It’s an interesting twist. I look forward to seeing where the following books take it.

I refuse to spoil the book for you so I’m not going to say much more about the plot. I found the characters fun and Jordan especially went through some major growth over the course of the novella. She deals with some major identity and self-acceptance issues. Overall, I found ‘growth’ to be a theme throughout the book for several characters and the town itself.

I felt like the pace was really fast and would have enjoyed a few more places to slow down and get more backstory on both main characters. I wanted to know more about the changes happening in the town too, but it was a very fun and thoroughly enjoyable read.

Carrie Ann Ryan keeps me turning the pages!
