Liza Dyer has spent her career counseling and guiding her
patients towards a more fulfilling life, so it is a shock when she cannot stop
her own life from falling apart. After a cheating ex, she decides to escape to
Patience, Tennessee. Instead of confiding in her long-time friend, she finds
herself revealing her painful secrets to sexy, ladies’ man Tex Avery.
Tex is a confirmed
bachelor every woman in Patience is trying to catch. He is the last thing Liza
needs, but once again, she cannot help herself—especially when he shows up at
her hotel door looking depleted and leaving her breathless. It is in her nature to want to help with the
emotional pain Tex is going through, but her counseling is not welcomed. Liza is determined to not give up on him…but
will their connection be enough to convince her to once again put her heart on
the line.
Angela’s Review:
Loving Patience is the second book in the Patience Series by
Ms. Simpkins. The entire story takes place in the welcoming, small town of
Patience, Tennessee. Everybody knows everybody in this town and I love the
camaraderie that the author brings to this close-knit group of friends.
Anna and Jake made their appearance in Forgiving Patience,
and I absolutely fell in love with their characters. When the author introduced
me to Liza and Tex, I thought it would be impossible for me to like them more
than the couple that began this series. I was so wrong!! Ms. Simpkins’s writing
has literally breathed life into these characters. The details and conflicts
this couple had come up against were realistic, and heart wrenching at times.
Though he came off as a ladies man in the first book, Tex
Avery is the real thing. He is grounded, sexy, responsible and intuitive. There
is nothing sexier than a man who is not afraid of a little hard work, and knows
how to use his hands. I literally choked up when he exposed that vulnerable
side of himself to Liza, and began to trust her with his mother’s secret.
Liza Dyer was a strong feminine character that is very likable
and understanding. However, as perfect as the heroine seemed on the outside,
she had baggage of her own to work through.
If you love those sexy country boys, a heroine with a heart
and steamy sex scenes then you will want to see the sparks fly, and the
chemistry flow when Liza and Tex come together in Loving Patience by Jennifer
Simpkins.
