In the 1400’s Ryce Leon moves to Scotland to escape the horrors of his past. The lusty Englishman is content to wear kilts and share his unique talents with the satisfied lasses of Rannoch. However, fate brings a forsaken young waif into his life, Chrisselle Buchanan. What begins as a simple pairing of Master and pet evolves into something powerful, with the potential to free Ryce from his unbearable curse.

Ryce Leon is a Master of exceptional experience, introducing the women of Rannoch to his rare skills. Unbeknownst to them, he hides a tragic secret - one that forces him to move from place to place, never putting down roots for fear of discovery. He has learned the terrible price of love and will not suffer such loss again. When the dying Chrisselle is thrust upon him, he is determined to rid himself of her as soon as she recovers. However, the Scottish waif’s brave spirit and curious nature eventually break down his defenses. It is clear that fate has brought them together, but Ryce knows from experience that fate can be a cruel mistress.

Holly's Review:

What I loved about this story…let me count the ways. This is my first adventure in reading a historical BDSM novel and obviously I’ve been missing out. Red Phoenix has a way of taking you along for the ride as she weaves in and out of her character’s lives. Ryce is a hero to die for; sturdy, loving, and hiding a dark secrets that took away the love of his life. Now, making his way from place to place, in order to keep his secret, the last thing he wants is a woman to cherish.

In steps Chrisselle. She’s young, curious, and has no problem living on the kinky side in order to capture Ryce’s heart. She captured mine as soon as she was introduced to the story.

I also loved the other women in the book and Ryce’s interaction with them from beginning to end. It’s very hard not to give away the ending in order to start a major discussion but I won’t. I will mention Eventide and give this incredible horse his due.

His Scottish Pet has everything an erotica, historical, and/or BDSM reader could want and the best part is that this is only the beginning of the series.

This review is also available at Satin Sheets Reviews. This book was not provided by the author for a fair and honest review because I purchased a copy myself. It was worth far more than I paid :-) I give this book 5 Satin Pillows and 4 Sizzling Candles!

Description: Rebecca Venturas likes adventure. She scales mountains, jumps out of airplanes in search of an ungroomed ski run and loves pushing the envelope, in and and out of the bedroom. But bondage - that was something she was a virgin to. That is until she meets Will Cooper, the sophisticated and successful Wall Street guy who invites her to try.

Told through the eyes of both Rebecca and Will, The Bondage Virgin is the story of the night Will initiates Rebecca into the world of collars and cuffs, whips and chains, pain and pleasure, of domination and submission. What Rebecca thinks will be an isolated adventure turns out to be the beginning of something much bigger than she had ever imagined!

Review: The Bondage Virgin is a diary like ride through a woman’s exploration of BDSM with her knowledgeable new boyfriend. I was slightly thrown off when Will’s point of view came into the story but the second time his thoughts took over I was thrilled to see inside his psyche.

Will choose Rebecca hoping she would embrace his lifestyle but remained unsure because of a past experience. Rebecca has no idea what Will is thinking after he leaves her night after night, hot and bothered, wondering if he could possibly be gay.

I loved Ms. Dantes’ story premise and her ability to let you see deeply into her character’s minds. I found the following passage brilliant and it shows some of the author's insight into BDSM.

“Men had always complimented me. I had always known I was attractive. But there was something about listening to him say it while restrained and being forced to really look at me that magnified the experience.”

My only complaint with the book would be Will’s “strict Dom aggression” to “kindness” mood shifts. But, I think this is the author’s prerogative and just not something that worked for me. It only detracted slightly from the overall story and many people may not have a problem with it at all.

This is the first book in Rebecca and Will’s story and will leave you wanting the next installment quickly.

I give The Bondage Virgin 4 out of 5 Kinky Pillows!

Satin Sheets Romance Reviews: Gabriel by Chris Lange

Title: Gabriel
Author: Chris Lange
Author Website: http://chrislangeauthor.wordpress.com/
Genre: Erotic Paranormal Romance
Length: 65 pages

Find it On:

Who can stop a master vampire from expanding his territory? Only one woman, born with a rare, invisible power, and hate for his kind deep in her blood. Now she has to face the master who has become a legend. His name is Gabriel.

Holly's Review

Let me begin by saying I loved the premise of Ms. Lange’s paranormal erotic world. The heroine, Calista, has a gift and it’s not exactly a vampire’s best friend. I like Calista’s character and her joy in sexual liaisons with the undead even when she plans to destroy them.

Gabriel is wonderful and it’s hard not to like him from the beginning. It doesn't hurt that I have a “thing” for the name Gabriel. I very much enjoyed the story, characters, and the author’s European vernacular. Certain words caused me to chuckle throughout the course of the story, “After hoisting her skirt up, he ripped her knickers off.”

I felt the writing was choppy in places but I have a feeling that as Ms. Lange’s experience with the pen continues, her work will grow into the great stories she is destined to write. I’m hoping for more of this world but know I will enjoy whatever she develops in her nasty talented thoughts.

Gabriel is Awarded:

4 Spicy Satin Pillows
